The ladies pull off back-to-back wins

Away to Camberley Goldhawks, Tuesday 8th December, Won 48-38

Although some were a little sore form the night before, the win had boosted the team's confidence going into this game against Camberley. The first and second quarters were much the same as the previous evening, with both teams trading baskets but Woking always being slightly behind. Just before the half time however, a bout of solid defence enabled Woking to capitalise on their greater fitness and score 8 straight points from fast breaks, going into the half time break up by 4.

Going into the third quarter, Woking were unable to increase the lead they had gained and traded baskets with Camberley. In light of the previous night's victory and the fact that Woking had beaten Camberley in their last encounter, it was clear that there was a certain expectation to win, creating pressure on players to play well. Annabelle called a quick time out to focus the team on what had been the objective the previous night:  to enjoy the game and play as a team. Woking stepped back on court a more united and relaxed team. Helen in particular started taking more opportunities on offence, shooting the ball from a range of distances. As shots kept finding the basket, Anne and Becky also grew in confidence and made an impact offence, shooting and driving against Camberley.

Going into the fourth quarter, there was no longer any reason to conserve energy and Jo and Robyn put on a mighty performance securing rebounds at both ends of the court. A few finger injuries during the game posed a potential risk towards the end of the match but a great team spirit ensured that victory was secured at the end. A fantastic team effort by everyone involved.

Top scorer was Annabelle with 22 points.

Team: Annabelle (22), Jo (8), Helen (6), Anne (6), Robyn (4), Becky (2).
